We are ready for the 2022 St. Rose cross country season! If you haven’t already, please head to http://saintroseonline.org/school/cyo-sports/cyo-overview to register your runners for the season.

Practices for Cadets (4th, 5th, 6th graders) and Juniors (7th & 8th graders) start on Thursday, August 4 from 6:30-7:30.
Practices for PeeWees (K, 1st graders) and Minors (2nd & 3rd graders) start on Monday, August 8 from 6:30-7:15.

The typical practice schedule will be Mon, Tues, Thurs at above times and will be held at Rivercrest Park near Ft. Meigs Elementary School. NO PRACTICE on Monday, Aug.15 due to coaches training that evening.

Meet at the shelter house. Parents of all kindergarteners (and new younger runners) will need to be present during practice.

Please plan to attend the parent meeting on Monday, August 22 @6:30 while the kids are practicing. This will be held at the shelter house at Rivercrest Park. We will go over all information about the season and meets. Until then, feel free to visit https://toledodiocese.org/cyo/page/cross-country for information. The 5 meets are the first 5 Saturday mornings after Labor Day.

*The “Events” section on this app shows the tentative practice and meet dates. This is a work-in-progress, so know that we are making changes to Sept/Oct practice info over the next couple of weeks. Locations/times are subject to change, although the dates will not.

Don’t forget that each runner will need their physician to sign an Athletic Contract prior to practicing. Under the Documents tab of this app, you’ll find a blank Athletic Contract. Most pediatricians will sign this if you drop it off to his or her office and have had a physical in the last year. Kroger Little Clinic also has a $25 sports physical. You may bring this to the first practice and give to your child’s coach. Contact Athletic Director Sarah Anderson for all questions: cyo@saintroseonline.org

Please have your runner bring a labelled water bottle to each practice and wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothes to run in. For those new to XC, this is a family-friendly sport. We welcome you to hang around practice and let younger kids play on the playground.

If your runner shows any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend practice. Please contact your physician and proceed accordingly.

We are so excited for the 2022 cross country season! St. Rose and St. John – Pray for us!
